This is a general guide. Always check your specific printer's specifications and the filament manufacturer's recommendations. ABS, ASA, PC, and nylon also need ventilation, not just an enclosure, because they release fumes and fine particles when hot. Nylon, PC, and PVA are hygroscopic and must be dried before printing and kept in a dry box. Materials printed above about 240C (PC, nylon, and some ABS/ASA) need an all-metal hotend, since stock PTFE-lined hotends degrade at sustained high temperature.
